Early Precious Baby

Well I got a call on Tuesday night saying that the teacher's water broke and if I could start Wednesday.  Of course I was very excited to start, and very excited for Slay Broke to enter the world.  Lucky for me, it's the last  bit of the year so my days have consisted for Christmas parties, hot chocolate, desserts, movies, and coloring.  The kids are delightful and I'm so excited to get to teach them for a short while next semester.  Tomorrow is our field trip and everyone in the elementary is going to Tinseltown to see a movie.  Of course it was 70 degrees on Tuesday and it's looking like snow for our Friday!  Only in Texas right?  Pray that it goes smoothly, safely, and that no little babies get too cold!


CONGRATULATIONS KRISTIN AND GARRETT! I can't wait for ya'll to finally get married!  I couldn't be more excited for ya'll, and know and pray that God is going to do big things with ya'lls relationship!


We are all getting very excited about the ski trip coming up soon!  Even though I'm TERRIFIED to ski, I'm going to suck it up and try it out again :)  Pictures will be posted after!  We are EVEN MORE excited about Christmas coming up and getting to see both of our wonderful families!

Prayers for a Baby Answered

No, no, not us :)

Last year Sean and I jokingly prayed that a teacher would get pregnant in the Spring of 2010 so I could have a long term sub job after I finished student teaching.  God is good!  I got a call from a wonderful district yesterday offering me a long term sub position for a 4th grade reading and social studies classroom!  She's due over the Christmas break so I'll start the beginning of January!  Even though I'm nervous about being in a 4th grade room, I'm very excited because I have been wanting to try an upper grade classroom, especially reading and social studies!  Pray that God would teach me and make me a better teacher through this process.  As my Dad said yesterday, "Your classroom is your mission field," so pray that I see it as that everyday.


Don't forget to sign up for a Perspectives class that is in your area for the Spring semester.  I know it looks expensive but it's worth it! Perspectives has been the best experience for Sean and I!

Days at Daybreak

Sean and I are spending another beautiful Saturday at Daybreak up in LBK.  It's our favorite coffee shop up here.  After a wonderful Thanksgiving break of seeing our friends and family, we're excited to be back up here in our very "Christmasy" home.  

Thanksgiving was very refreshing and encouraging to see everyone.  It consisted of going to Mark and Meagan Blanscet's wedding (wahoo, congrats!) with my family, heading down to Austin to spend some amazing time with our 3rd family the Cottons, and then finally ending the trip in Cypress with The Townsends!  We had so much fun at our first Townsend Thanksgiving!  Sean and I are so blessed to have such godly families.  Here are a few things we did in Cypress:

- Went and saw Mr. T's new plane!  Sean even rode in it!

- Visited with Grandma and Grandpa

- Hung out with Lora, Pat, and Kaylee

- Shopped at Cypress outlet mall

- Had a lovely, encouraging, fun dinner with Bethy Mot!

- Met precious Jane!

- Watched Dumb and Dumber with Jane.....oh Townsend traditions :)

- Helped make Thanksgiving dinner!

- Played Phase 10....which I won by the way :)

- Watched ESPN, watched more ESPN, watched even more ESPN haha I love it!

- Cheered on the Aggies as they killed TU! Whoop!

End of Another Chapter

Well student teaching is officially over.  It was very bitter sweet!  Very sad to leave those sweet, precious kids, but very excited to start my teaching career!  By my last day, every kid in the room was saying "Gig em Mrs. Townsend," and "We should have worn A&M shirts!"  I'm pretty sure they'll all go to A&M now :)

Sean and I are very excited about the next coming week!  After his test on Friday (please pray he remembers what he is learning) we are traveling to Dallas for the Blanscet/Mayfield wedding and some Pasche family time.  We're so excited for them, and excited to see everybody!
Then we are going to Austin to visit our third family, The Cottons!  I miss them so very much and super excited to see them and visit....finally!  THEN we are off to Houston to spend Thanksgiving with The Townsends!  Sean and I are both super excited to see his family and spend some time with them.  It's be hard to be so far away from them, but love when we get to see them.  I'm hoping I also get to see Bethy Mots and her precious home :)

Busy, busy, busy!

Well as you can tell life has gotten more busy than before student teaching!  Even though it's going wonderfully, and I absolutely love the kids, it's been a 10:30 bed time kind of semester!  So here's a quick, generalized blog:

Start with the not so good....

- We took home a precious puppy for one night, but decided to give her back!  It was for sure the smarter decision, but still sad :(

- One of our cars got a tiny bump on it, and it looks like it's going to cost us that pretty penny we don't have haha

- Parent teacher conferences....if you're a teacher, enough said haha

Now to the good stuff :)

-We got to surprise visit Jennifer for her birthday!  It was one of the best weekends, and we had so much fun!  

- Sean got to go to the A&M/Arkansas game at the new Cowboy stadium!  

- Student teaching is more than half way over! Wahoo!

- Shayla (my roompartner according to my 2nd graders) is coming in for the weekend.  Apparently I am too young to have slumber parties!  Don't you mean old?  "No, young!" said Charlee, another one of my precious 2nd graders.

- Fall weather...Lubbock has the most beautiful weather and Sean and I are loving it!

- Colorado vacation possibly this winter! Wahoo...A&M reunite! 

- I get the HUGE privaledge of being in Kate's wedding!

- The class we are taking at church, Perspectives, is truly rocking our world.  God is showing us big things, and we are so excited to see where it takes us!

The Funny Stories...

Today has been a wonderful, but funny day!  There are too many little updates to write a long one so here's the run down :)

• Do not judge me...I keep a very clean, not just tidy house!  I vacuum, dust, mop, etc weekly!  However, in the past week we have experienced a tiny little spider IN OUR BED right before we crawled in for the night...GROSS....and  A HUGE SPIDER IN THE LARGE MIXING BOWL IN OUR CABNET!  How he got there....I have no idea!  Oh the joys of living in an apartment!
• We received our last shipment from Pottery Barn today!  Wahoo!  Our bed is now complete and we officially have a toothbrush holder! The only problem is I think you have to have PB pillows to fit perfectly into the shams...therefore our bed looks a little funny :)
• Sean and I missed our 3 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF DATING!  
• Perspectives is rocking our world!  God is truly teaching Sean and I LOTS and challenging us in some awesome ways!  Check and see if there is one in your town!
• I got stuck in my first LBK flood the other day!  I tried to run a few errands before the storm, and I didn't quite make it!  There was about a foot and a half of water on the road and hail! Yikes!
• We went to our first Gospel Community group, small group, on Wednesday and we loved it!  We met some truly cool people and we're excited about getting to know them!  Redeemer is such an answered prayer!
• I used my awesome Kitchen Aid last week for the first time, and I'm wondering what I ever did without it!  It was so easy and wonderful, minus the fact that I got the spoon stuck in the whisk, as it was still on, at 10:00 pm on Thursday, while I was already ready for bed!  This resulted in me having to mop, and explaining to Sean that things like this will continue to happen to him because he married me :)

That's all I can think of now!  We're loving life, and growing more and more each day!

Pizzas and Pictures

If you know Sean at all (or the Townsends) then you know they love Chicago and Chicago style pizza!  It's pretty much Sean's favorite thing to eat, but obviously he doesn't get to eat good Chicago style pizza too much down here!  Because his mom and dad are as precious as can be and so thoughtful, they ordered him pizza from this favorite place in Chicago Lou Malnati's and had it sent to us!  We got it today in the mail and already devoured one delicious, pepperoni, deep dish, Chicago style pizza :)
